General purpose of the job
Performs the maintenance and programming of the central control systems and associated equipment, providing technical assistance to the Electrical/InstrumentationTechnicians, and detail engineering and field supervision for the electrical/instrumentation portion of the capital projects.
Individual accountabilities
- Optimizes and maintains high level control and automation for the plant operation promoting process improvement.
- Optimizes and performs maintenance in the plant networks, ensuring proper utilization and reliability.
- Optimizes and performs maintenance in the Human Machine Interface (HMI) working closely with Production, perfecting trends, reporting, control, alarms, and displays.
- Optimizes and maintains software and hardware of the Programmable Logic Controllers.
- Optimizes and performs maintenance in the plant WEB server to guarantee its reliable operation.
- Performs maintenance in the plant PLC systems in order to guarantee its continuous and reliable operation.
- Performs maintenance in plant control computers and plant network systems.
- Performs maintenance in plant supervisor controls in order to allow the supervisor to perform its duties.
- Promotes new upgrades and feature to assist plant performance.
- Develops and produce plant reports in order to keep track of the operation.
- Establishes and keep record of inventory levels of spare parts in order to guarantee the stock needed for the plant operation.
- Creates and maintains a working relationship with internal customers.
- Establishes and maintains management records for direct reports, vendors, and work orders.
- Designs, monitor and actively act upon preventive maintenance programs.
- Ensures compliance with Automation, IT, and corporation guidelines.
- Updates existing prints and documentation to reflect any changes to the equipment. Approves vendor supplied prints and documentation as systems changes are implemented.
Education
Associate degree in Electrical Engineering
Technical knowledge and certifications
- Minimum 3 years experience working in process systems in the cement manufacturing or related field.
- Must be able to work as a part of a team to ensure continuous improvement in their functional area as well as the overall plant operations.
- Must be able to meet on-call responsibilities in a 24/7 operation.
