General purpose of the job

Establish standards and best practices for managing internal infrastructure, including network, access rights, servers, internal and external vendor applications. Ensuring the optimal performance level of all tools and solutions used in the Organization; end-user services and ensures the technical security of all systems with the ability to integrate new and innovation technologies, in order to capture internal efficiencies, through the generation of relevant information for decision-making process and the incorporation of digital opportunities throughout the organization.

Individual accountabilities

  • Responsible for managing overall IT day to day operations to improve infrastructure costs, performance and end user satisfaction.
  • Provide leadership in planning and managing computer operations and digital support, systems and database administration and network operations, in order to supply an efficient and effective service to the organization that enables it to make the right decisions.
  • Manage IT resource requirements to ensure appropriate balance between tactical and strategic demands.
  • Manage strategic relationships with key IT products and service providers, in order to create an efficient portfolio.
  • Provide in depth technical expertise for both tactical and operational initiatives to ensure a quality service supply. 
  • Provision in close cooperation with third party service provider an IT infrastructure that is suitable to access and use their business applications.
  • Interact with business unit managers to define infrastructure support initiatives and solutions for improving service efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure the infrastructure team is mitigating, monitoring and managing infrastructure related risks.
  • Utilizes strategic thinking, data and industry knowledge, and calculated risk-taking to create competitive advantage.
  • Manages and provides oversight to all areas of the team. Directly manages staff, including review writing, scheduling and providing ongoing coaching, development and feedback. Assesses, prioritizes and delegates tasks and workflow.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study. 

Technical knowledge and certifications

  • At least 5 years of IT experience including managing teams responsible for architecture design and deployment, systems lifecycle management and infrastructure planning and operations.
  • Experience in areas such as network design and administration, data center operations, database administration, and systems programming and administration.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs with ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence.
  • Experience implementing packages and working with vendors.
  • Analytical thinking.
  • The ability to translate complex ideas for non-tech staff/customers.
  • Strong Project Management and Budgeting Skills.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Architecture.
  • Cybersecurity concepts and tools.

Area of experience

  • 3 - 6 years
  • In-depth knowledge of servers and networks, data organisation, and both hard- and software.
