General purpose of the job

Responsible for leading and implementing all marketing and Go To Market activities related to conceptualizing and implementing marketing and communications strategies for Argos Cement business in the USA. 
Key responsibilities include:

  • Gain a thorough understanding of the US cement markets and customers, including customers’ needs, wants and opportunities to develop the appropriate segment specific Value Propositions
  • Develop the required Segmentation, Targeting and Positioning approach in line with the cement business unit strategy and identified market opportunities
  • Lead, coordinating with each District Sales Manager, the implementation of targeted marketing and Go To Market strategies to reach business goals
  • Coordinate with the business analysis areas the deployment of market and customer research, insights analyses, digital channels, customer and sales tools and systems. 
Individual accountabilities

1.    Gain a thorough understanding of the US cement markets and customers, including customers’ needs, wants and opportunities to develop the appropriate segment specific Value Propositions
•    Develop a detailed understanding of the various cement sub-markets and their customers in the Argos footprint by using primary and secondary information sources, direct on-the-ground market research and various insights developed in collaboration with the analytics areas of the business;
•    Use publicly available information such as industry and analysts reports; websites, online and social media channels, Argos sales teams and cement customers to develop a deep understanding or all relevant cement competitors, their strategies, and tactics;
•    Design and deploy customer and market research studies and surveys to measure Argos´ performance in the market (company, products and services), customer satisfaction and experience;
•    Develop and work with the required business functions (R&D, Cement Quality, Cement Production, Supply Chain, IT, Human Resources, Other) to implement customer segments targeted Value Propositions.

2.    Develop the appropriate Segmentation, Targeting and Positioning approach in line with the cement business unit strategy and identified market opportunities;
•    Based on customer behavior and analysis of Argos´ customers and markets refine and improve current segmentation and channels to market within the cement business unit;
•    Implement the required customer targeting strategies required to deliver the defined segment specific value proposition and customer experience;
•    Establish with the sales teams, which segments and customers should be prioritized based on their existing and potential value to Argos;
•    Define the appropriate positioning approach to reach the targeted segments and customers and ensure clear differentiation in the markets where Argos operates.

Education
  • Educational background:  Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience: Marketing, Economics, Customer or Markets analytics, Business Administration
